Free ICAO English Test Preparation Workshop
If you’re preparing for your ICAO Language Proficiency Test, chances are you’ve already asked yourself questions like:
“What exactly happens during the test?”
“What are the examiners really looking for?”
“How difficult is the listening part?”
“Am I preparing for the right things?”
If that sounds familiar, don’t worry. We’ve all been there ourselves.
Long before we became ICAO examiners, we were sitting exactly where you are now, preparing for our own language tests and wondering what to expect. We know how easy it is to spend hours learning vocabulary, practising grammar, or reading advice online, only to realise later that the exam is actually testing something quite different.
That’s exactly why we created our free ICAO English Preparation Workshop.
Understand the Test Before You Take It
The ICAO Language Proficiency Test isn’t about speaking perfect English. It’s about communicating clearly, naturally, and confidently in situations that pilots encounter every day. Once you understand what the assessment is actually designed to evaluate, preparing becomes much more straightforward and far less stressful.
We’ve assessed hundreds of candidates over the years, and we’ve noticed something interesting. Very often, pilots already have the language skills they need. What holds them back isn’t their English. It’s uncertainty about the exam itself.
During the workshop, we’ll explain exactly how the assessment works, what we’re looking for as examiners, and why candidates sometimes lose points unnecessarily. There are no trick questions and no secrets. We’ll simply show you the test from the examiner’s perspective.
And of course, you’re welcome to ask anything.
What You’ll Learn
During the workshop, you’ll:
- Understand the structure of the ICAO Language Proficiency Test
- Work through typical picture description exercises
- Listen to authentic ATIS recordings and aviation audio examples
- Learn the difference between ICAO Level 4, Level 5 and Level 6
- Understand the most common mistakes candidates make
- Receive practical dos and don’ts for the interview
- Improve your Aviation English listening and speaking skills
- Take away practical tips you can immediately use on exam day
Who Is It For?
Whether you’re taking your first ICAO Language Proficiency Test, renewing your ICAO Level 4, or aiming for ICAO Level 5 or Level 6, you’re very welcome to join us.
You can register as an individual pilot or together with your flight school class.

We look forward to meeting you online.
One comment we hear after almost every workshop is:
“I wish I’d attended this before I started preparing.”
Sometimes, simply knowing what to expect is enough to replace uncertainty with confidence. If we can help make your ICAO English test feel just a little less stressful than ours once did, then we’ve achieved exactly what this workshop was created for.
